Local ports around Victoria provide safe havens and services to fishing vessels, charter boats, recreational boats and small commercial vessels. They provide moorings for local and international yachts, and provide endless hours of recreation and enjoyment for a wide cross section of the community, from tourists and fishing enthusiasts to bird watchers and water sports lovers.

There are 13 local ports in Victoria, under management of eight local port managers. These include:

  • Gippsland Ports (Gippsland Lakes, Corner Inlet and Port Albert, Snowy River, Mallacoota and Andersons Inlet)
  • Port Phillip Bay and Western Port (public piers and jetties at Portsea, Sorrento, Rye, St Kilda, Gem Pier, Portarlington, Queenscliff and San Remo)
  • Port Fairy
  • Apollo Bay
  • Warrnambool
  • Port Campbell
  • Lorne
  • Barwon Heads
  • Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne)
